Timeline Buttons
Once you load up a view of a timeline (doesn't matter which view), you will see a set of buttons associated with each tweet. These are actions you can take on the tweet, and the possible button values are listed as follows:- @ -The @ button is a quick reply button. If you press this, the page will reload with this users handle in the input box prefixedwith the @ ready to reply.
- DM -The DM button is a quick way to DM someone without needing to load up the DM page. This will enter the text: 'd username'into the input box. This is the shorthand method of sending direct messages to users.
- RT -The RT button is used to quickly ReTweet or relay a message from another twitter user. When you click this button, the tweetwill appear in the input field, prefixed by RT <username>:, ready for you to hit "Tweet"

Sending a Direct Message
Since Tweete 0.3b, DM's can now be sent easily from any page by using the correct syntax. Typing "d <username> <message>"will send a DM to the username specified.Quick Access Keys
Access keys were introduced in Tweete 0.4b. These allow for quick navigation between pages. Tweete has copied the official mobile twitteraccess keys as close as possible, along with some new ones and they are as follows:- 0. Home
- 1. Replies
- 2. Directs
- 3. Favs
- 4. Previous Page
- 6. Next Page
- 9. Help
Device Profiles
Device profiles are new in Tweet 0.6b. In short, they are a different set of settings for each device you configure. There are two types of devices you can configure, these are 'DESKTOP' and 'MOBILE'. Whenever you browse Tweete with a new device (based on your User-Agent), Tweete will ask you whether this is a DESKTOP device or a MOBILE device. Tweete will then remember this preferance and enable the correct settings. This means that you have two sets of settings, one for MOBILE and one for DESKTOP. If you select 'MOBILE' device and then go into the 'Configure General Settings' page, you will be configuring the settings for all devices you have set to be 'MOBILE'. Likewise with your DESKTOP settings. What settings can I set though?
Customize your Tweete experience
You can pretty much change nearly everything in Tweete as of version 0.7b. To customize your settings click the 'Account' menu option at the top of tweete, click here.In the main account page, you have three options. The first is 'General Account Settings', I will go into these later. The remaining account links refer to resetting your user-agents and settings which reset tweete back to 'factory defaults' if you like.
Reset UserAgents
This keeps all your actual setting intact, if simply wipes which devices you have picked to be 'MOBILE' or 'DESKTOP'. Once this reset has been done, Tweete will ask you each time you connect with a new device whether it is a desktop of a mobile.Reset to Default
This link will basically erase all your settings and user-agents (above) to default. We don't back these up so make sure you want to remove all your Tweete settings before confirming this reset!Configure General Settings
Inside here are a whole swag of options for configuring nearly every aspect of Tweete. I will now go through each option to outline what it does exactly.Configure Buttons
Configure buttons gives you the ability to customise which buttons appear next to each tweet. If you want to make Tweete really slimline you can disable all of these buttons and make it just for reading. Or enable them all for a richer experience.Configure Menu Items
Here you are able to configure which menu items you want to display at the top of the page. By default Home, Replies, Directs, Favs, Account and Help are enabled. If you wish to enable a quick link to your timeline, click the checkbox next to your username in the list. Other options include Search and Logout.Display Image Library Thumbnails
Pick which image upload services you would like to display in your timeline. If you enable this, you will get thumbnails from each service you enable in your timeline.Base font size
You can now change the base font size of Tweete! This lets you change the font size to adjust to what looks best on your device!Colour Scheme
Change the way Tweete looks with a theme! You also have the ability to submit your own themes if you wish. Have a look at bmn_dark.css as an example theme. When you are happy with your theme, submit it to me via bmn at bmn dot name.Display Avatars
This turns on profile avatars next to each tweet.Hashtags
Enable this to make each #hashtag link to a Twitter search within Tweete!Tweets per page
If you want to show more than 20 tweets in your timeline? Go for it, you can crank this baby up to 200!Auto-refresh
If you would like Tweete to auto-refresh the page an a desired interval, just enter it into this box. The values are in minutes. If you wish to turn it off, just delete the value in the box and press save.Retweet Style & syntax
Tweete supports native Twitter retweets, and you can enable them by selecting 'New'. If you prefer the old retweet style where you can add your own text to the tweet, select 'Old'.
If you select old, you can optionally customize the retweet format! Use the %u to place the username of the user who tweeted the tweet, and %t where you want the tweet text to go. You will need both %u and %t for this option to save correctly.Resume Line
The resume line has been adopted from popular IRC clients (X-chat, mIRC, etc) and provides a marker for your own referance. I was discovering that I was rereading a lot of tweets as I didn't know where I was up to. Well with this option you can mark where you were last up to. Tweete remembers the timestamp of your last view of /home and then places a line in the next page load to inform you that is where you were up to! This only works on the /home page.Google Web Translator (GWT)
Enabling GWT makes all external links go through the Google Web Translator which enables the site for mobile access!Next/Prev page buttons
You can change where you want to place the prev/next buttons. Prefer them at the top or bottom? Easy! Want them at the top AND the bottom.. easy!Display Header
You have the option of turning off the very top Tweete bar if it takes too much space. This is useful for Nokias running S60 browser.Display Favicon
If your device supports favicons, you can turn the Tweete favicon on! (this is the little icon next to the address in the bar at the top). If you are on a mobile device, we recommend you leave this option disabled.Restrict Inputbox
Some users prefer an inputbox that doesn't let them enter more than 140 characters so they know their tweet won't be truncated. Fair enough. Turn this option on if you are one of those users. :)Source in timeline
Show the 'via <source>' in timeline. Turning this off makes the timeline even smaller and faster!Timesince in timeline
Show the 'x mins ago' in timeline. Turning this off makes the timeline even smaller and faster!Display Geo information in timeline
